Voltage or Current Divider Formulas for Resistors and Capacitors in series or parallel

Voltage or Current Divider Formulas

for Resistors and Capacitors in series or parallel

Voltage Divider Formula for Resistors in Series
\[V_1=\frac{V}{R_1+R_2}\,\times R_1\]
V is proportional to R (for a given i)

Current Divider Formula for Resistors in Parallel
\[i_1=\frac{i_{total}}{R_1+R_2}\,\times R_2\]
i is inversely proportional to R (for a given V)
\[i_{total}=\frac{V}{R_{parallel}}\]

Voltage Divider Formula for Capacitors in Series
\[V_1=\frac{V}{C_1+C_2}\,\times C_2\]
V is inversely proportional to C (for a given Q)
Bigger the bottle, lower the level (for the same quantity of water)

Charge Divider Formula for Capacitors in Parallel
\[Q_1=\frac{Q}{C_1+C_2}\,\times C_1\]
Q is proportional to C (for a given V)
Bigger the bottle, higher the quantity of water (for the same level)

Inductors will have the formulas similar to Resistors.
